LGV/HGV refresher training is a great way to get back into driving. If you have not driven for a long time, getting straight back behind the wheel can be quite daunting. It might be that you would just like to enhance your skills to improve a specific area.
Taking up professional training not only improves your driving ability, but also reduces any risks that you may have to yourself, the vehicle and your surroundings. It can help to achieve increased fuel efficiency, less wear and tear to vehicles and improve confidence in your ability.
A lot of Haulage companies and driving agencies looking to recruit will insist upon a driving assessment, so you can use this training to sharpen up your skills and make sure you are ready for any driving ability tests.

What to Expect
The course can be tailored to suit you and any particular need that you have. On a standard 4-hour session we would cover an on the road session of approximately 1.5-2hrs, 1 hr of reversing and 1 hr of safe uncoupling/recoupling. The timings will be adapted to your own needs. In addition to this we will cover your daily walk around checks.
The training will be carried out in an Articulated vehicle with a 40ft Trailer, the container will be loaded with 8 tonnes. The vehicles that we train in offer the latest mirror camera technology as well as all the comforts that come as part of modern fleet of vehicles.
The training will be carried out by one of our NRI qualified trainers, with years of industry experience and know how.
Goldstar HGV training is carried out at our training base in Woolpit, Suffolk, utilizing DVSA driving test centres – Ipswich, Norwich, or Chelmsford.
Important Info
Before you can begin the training, you must possess a C+E license (and have completed the relevant medical requirements). We can guide you on how to do all this prior to training.
