HGV Driver assessments are designed for those who are interested in exploring the world of haulage or considering a career change but are unsure if it’s the right path for them.
Our HGV Driver assessments are conducted by our fully qualified RI Instructors or DVSA/Delegated Examiners. Every one of them possesses extensive industry knowledge and expertise in Driving Analysis and improvement.

What to Expect
The aim of this course is to provide you with an introduction to the industry and assist you in making an informed decision before fully committing to a career in haulage. The course includes the following components:
- Introduction to daily walk-around checks
- Basic practice in reversing manoeuvres
- Demonstration of driving techniques
- Comprehensive instructed drive along a local route
- Introduction to defensive driving principles
- Fuel-efficient driving techniques
- Utilizing exhaust brake and cruise control effectively
- Safety and techniques for uncoupling and recoupling
Upon completion, a detailed written report will be provided, including recommendations for any necessary remedial training. The duration of this course is approximately 2 hours. To participate, you must hold a provisional C+E HGV entitlement on your license, allowing you to drive the vehicle on the road.
