1 Day Course (6 hours)

This course will take place in a classroom and the following areas are covered:

• CPR (resuscitation)
• Burns and scalds
• Choking
• How to help verbally with a casualty
• How to use a defibrillator including where to place the pads
• Bleeding
• Role of a First Aider
• Seizures
• Shock
• Unresponsive adults

3 Day Course

The 3 day Emergency first aid at work course covers all of the following;

• The roles and responsibilities of a first aider
• Ability to assess emergency situations
• Be able to provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty
• Be able to provide first aid to a casualty that is choking
• Be able to provide first aid to a casualty that is bleeding
• Know how to provide first aid to someone who is suffering with shock
• First aid for minor injuries
• Be able to conduct a secondary survey of a casualty
• Assist with casualties suffering for injured bones, muscles and joints
• Assist with Suspected head and spinal injuries
• Assist people with suspected chest injuries
• Know how to provide assistance to a casualty with a burn or a scold
• Provide help to people suffering from an eye injury
• Deal with a casualty with sudden poisoning
• Recognise and provide first aid when a casualty is suffering from anaphylaxis
• Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with suspected major illness (heart attacks/epileptic seizure/diabetic emergency etc)

Important Info

On completion, you will be issued a CPD certificate which lasts for 3 years and you will be a qualified first aider for your workplace.

You will need to wear comfortable clothing as you will be working on both your fellow trainees and also purpose-built Annie dolls to ensure that you are using all the correct techniques and getting the most out of your learning.

The classroom we use is fully air-conditioned to allow for maximum comfort and safety throughout your course.
