Goldstar Transport proudly announces that our Tilbury Truck Stop, has been granted a Park Mark Freight award. This award highlights our commitment to providing the highest standards of safety, service, and operation in the industry.
For the last few years, we’ve been running our Better Breaks, Safer Stops campaign to highlight the problems and pitfalls drivers face when they take their breaks, so, when the opportunity came up to launch our own facility, we took all the stories on board and looked to create something that ticked all the boxes.
The result is our Tilbury facility – conveniently located right next to A1089 road. We have full fencing, lights, CCTV, and guards on site 24/7. Toilets and showers are free of charge and always accessible. Drivers will find a kitchen and fast-food truck on site and a separate area for refrigerated truck parking.
Park Mark Freight: Excellence in Safety and Service
The Park Mark Freight is more than just a badge of honour – it is a comprehensive assessment managed by Police Crime Prevention Initiatives and the British Parking Association. Born out of a growing demand for well-managed, high-quality lorry parks and truck stops, the award aims to combat vehicle and cargo crime while encouraging the adoption of active management strategies to minimise criminal behaviour.
Going for Gold: A New Standard in Safety
In order to be granted the Park Mark, a parking facility must demonstrate a robust range of responsibilities, including measures to enhance the safety of people and vehicles, effective management and operations, and outstanding customer service. Our Tilbury Truck Stop, currently hosting on average 40 trucks per night, meets and surpasses these expectations.
Tilbury Truck Stop Facility Features
At Tilbury, we’ve also paid careful attention to driver needs and comfort. The separate reefer area has been a hit, allowing drivers not using this equipment to enjoy uninterrupted sleep. Furthermore, with a 24/7 manned site security, drivers can rest easy, free from fears of criminal activity.
Celebrating the Win
Steve Jones, Ops General Manager, says, “We are passionate about providing quality, safe, and secure parking facilities for our driving force. We are very proud of the Tilbury facility and honoured to have been awarded the Park Mark Freight Award.”
Ian Wilson, British Parking Association Area Manager, added his congratulations, “Steve and his team have demonstrated their hard work and commitment to providing a safe environment for users. It’s a fantastic site and deserves to be the first one in Essex to receive this award.”
