New Off-Dock Storage Expansion for Goldstar Woolpit Now Open

It’s been an exciting few months over at Woolpit and the wait is finally over. One of our most successful off-dock storage facilities has had a full upgrade and expansion, taking storage capacity up to a whopping 4500 TEU. These expanded operations will allow us to give more support to our customers and will reduce Quay rent and container detention bills too.

It’s hard to imagine now but it was snowing when we first started our expansion back in March 2022! The transformation has been massive we now have an additional three-acre site area for containers with an added capacity of around 2000 TEU.

Off-dock storage has been a successful part of the Goldstar offering for many years now. These off-dock terminals are strategically placed across the UK for full container storage – close to central hubs and all main ports. They allow our customers to enjoy all the benefits of port-side storage, including container accessibility and high levels of security, at a cost-effective price. Our Woolpit facility’s close proximity adjacent to the A14 means it’s perfectly situated for traffic to and from the Haven ports.

The Woolpit Depot is well known across the industry for its quick turnaround times. This expansion will not change things – in fact – we’ve increased the team to help us with increased demand and ensure every customer gets the high level of standard they’ve come to expect from Goldstar Transport.
